why wont my bike run (again)?
i have a 2001 cr 125r, previously i had a gas cap that wouldnt vent, which i fixed, i installed a new piston and ring, complete factory carburetor rebuild kit. i have a stock pipe, not sure if i have aftermarket reeds but they are carbon fiber, for some reason the plug is fouling, im running 32:1 fuel mix high octane. should i be running on a leaner setting for the jet needle? is it possible for gunk from my throttle cable to enter my carburetor? i cant seem to stop working on this bike, it runs flawlessly for about an hour and then has problems, ive done everything i can do within my knowledge, it seems like a fuel problem, again i have all factory standard settings in my carburetor main jet air screw settings, jet needle position (3rd down from top) clean filter. im just about ready to sell the bike and give up on riding because of the constant problems.
please does anybody have any idea as to why my bike keeps acting up?
The cylinder can be worn past specifications – installing a new piston ring would not bring up the cylinder compression enough.
Leaking crankshaft seal on the clutch side would allow crankcase oil into the fuel mixture and foul spark plugs.
